Sheila Patel joins the team as the global firm continues to invest in the digitization of large traditional industries

She joins the firm as B Capital continues to bolster its global presence and expansion into China.

Sheila joins B Capital from Goldman Sachs, where she was Chairman of Goldman Sachs Asset ​Management. Sheila will bring her global investment experience to the team as the firm continues to invest in the digitization of large traditional industries. The last two decades have been about the rise of the consumer internet, and the next two decades will be about digital transformation in traditional industries like healthcare, banking, insurance and industrials. Sheila joins Raj, Eduardo, Howard and the rest of the B Capital team as they help the most exciting companies across these sectors grow and scale.

Sheila brings thirty years of experience in financial markets and investment. Sheila served on Goldman Sachs’ Firmwide Management Committee, Partnership Committee, the Inclusion & Diversity Committee, and led ESG and Sustainability initiatives for GSAM, among other leadership responsibilities. Over her years with the firm, she held leadership roles in two divisions and on three continents, managing a variety of businesses globally during her career.

In her role as Vice Chairman of B Capital, Sheila will leverage her experience of managing trillion dollar funds on a global scale to strategize on where and how the firm should invest.
